The discussion about this demo reminded me about the rubric authored by the Committee on Chemical Safety in collaboration with NSTA that describes criteria for considering the pedagogical role of a demonstration and determining whether it meets or exceeds best practices for safety. You all are always helpful and generous with your time, but I truly did not expect so many responses so quickly this particular week. You confirmed what I suspected, and C&EN won't promote the video by including it in Chemistry in Pictures.
