This particular brand/model comes with removable temples, a strap, and a foam insert. So it can be configured as safety glasses with the temples installed or as goggles with the foam and strap installed.. It meets the D3, D4, and D5 ONLY IF worn as a goggle.

There are other brands available of prescription goggles. Just kind of depends on how they approach the prescription component. There’s a brand out there that uses prescription lenses inserted inside a classic style goggle.

I recently got my first pair of bifocals, so I’m actually in the market for a new pair. What I’m finding is that not all styles are offered with bifocal lenses.

Thank you,

Great, so your co-workers have experience with using them this way.  So it sounds like this is a legit recommendation for my scenic artist.   Monona

I have a few co-workers who use this style. Since these are curved, there is no need for side shields. This style can be purchased with prescription lenses, which is the reason my co-workers have them.

Just looking at them, I don't see side shields.  Generally, if protection from splash, dust, and particulates are a possibility, I have to assume that these (the particulates at least) could conceivably come from the side.

Re: eye wear question

I could use some opinions on eyewear that has ALL the following certifications:  Z87.1+, D3 D4 and D5 apparently simultaneously.  Now you can't wear these over glasses, but it looks like for contact wearers, this could be an all in one answer for the shop or lab.  Here's the link:
