Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency (HRFE) crews are on scene at Tufts Cove Generating Station after a fire broke out in a potash container.

According to HRFE acting district chief Pat Kline, some workers were injured and treated at the hospital for minor injuries.

‰??It‰??s a big metal hopper that holds potash and somehow it caught fire. It‰??s still under investigation,‰?? said Kline.

A man is dead following an explosion at a property north-west of Melbourne.

Emergency services were called to Troups Road South in Fieldstone, near Truganina, after reports of a chemical drum explosion shortly after 12.40pm on Monday.

A police spokeswoman said the man has been working at the Troups Road farm when the explosion occurred.

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) ‰??
The southbound lanes of Interstate 95 were blocked for more than 12 hours Friday due to a crash and a fuel spill.

The Florida Highway Patrol said two trucks collided near mile marker 115 near Port St. Lucie.

The highway is blocked between Gatlin Boulevard and Becker Road. New aerial video from the Port St. Lucie Police Department show the extent of the backups.

One truck rolled over and smashed into a broken down car on the side of the road, causing a fuel leak and a fire. The FHP said the second truck left the scene after the crash.

ONE DIES IN CHEMICAL FACTORY FIRE

The body of a worker was recovered from the ground floor of the seven-storey factory building of a chemical factory of Gazipur where a fire broke out on Thursday night.
The victim was Alamgir Hossain, 30, an employee of ASM Chemical Industries Company Limited where the fire broke out at about 10:45pm, said Sreepur Police Station officer-in-charge Khondakar Imam Hossain.
Gazipur district administration has formed a five-member committee to investigate the fire incident.
The committee, led by Additional District Magistrate Abul Kalam, has been directed to submit report within seven working days, said SM Tariqul Islam, deputy commissioner of Gazipur district.
The fire was put out at around 7:30pm, nearly three hours after it had broken out. Eight firefighting units worked to contain the blaze at Tepirbari village under Telihati union.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be known yet.
