Fill | Prevent the Transmission - Proper Ventilation for COVID-19

Masks, shields, distancing and sanitizing will reduce risk of transmission of COVID-19, but they cannot prevent transmission if the ventilation system allows small virus particles (the aerosol) to remain in the air. This presentation covers strategies to coordinate all the various precautions and to modify general recirculating ventilation systems (HVAC) to remove the virus. Drawings of systems using these techniques for film locations such as abandoned buildings and makeup trailers will be shown. Also covered are the limitations of unit ventilators, HEPA air purifiers, open windows, air-conditioners, UV units (stand-alone, at the ceiling, and in-duct), ionizers, ozone, and many other real and bogus air cleaning devices. At the end of this forum participants will know what changes should be made to ventilation systems before going to work in a building. May 27th from 9AM-12PM EST. Monona Rossol, M.S., M.F.A., Industrial Hygienist, Instructor.
