Although these are only video clips, they do not state that it is important to purge as much SF6 from your lungs as possible.
In that second link, the demonstrator starts our referring to hydrogen making his voice a higher pitch. It is too dangerous to breath hydrogen due to its flammability. Helium is better, however, be aware that these is a helium shortage.

External Email - Use Caution
That is the most peculiar thing I've heard in a LONG while. Any chance of getting a copy of that video? Monona

- In teaching the Physics of Music, I used a text with accompanying videos by an instructor from the Univ. of Maryland. This was some
years back! In a video he inhales SF6 and then explains the need to hang upside down from a table to let the heavy gas get out of his lungs.
- I shared this information with a colleague who said he does the demo without this precaution and everything is always fine.
- Being cautious, I rely on videos to show rather than demonstration.

Exercise Caution
I have been tasked with investigating procedures for use of SF6 for lecture demonstrations. So I wanted to check in with you all to find out if you have any experience
with supplying or supporting this demo and if so what tips, pointers, precautions, and/or prohibitions you might be willing to pass on.
Any help or info much appreciated,
