I received my compressed gas cylinder training from Eugene in 1982 and would certainly recognize him as the pre-eminent authority on the subject. He will definitely be missed.

It is sad to inform the division members that Eugene Ngai, a long-time member of the division and recipient of 2011 ACS Howard Fawcett Award for his contributions to chemical safety, has passed away on July 3rd after a short battle with tumor uncovered in April.
Eugene just finished the establishment of “Eugene’s Corner” websites in April this year which contains more than 100 articles from his 50 years’ experiences in the development and safety of specialty compressed gases. “Eugene’s Corner” can be found in the following three websites:
