Hi Renee

Congratulations! You will have the support and help of the Division.

Mary Alvarez already suggested the ACS Institute which has excellent resources.

I would probably also access AACT - American Association of Chemistry Teachers (https://teachchemistry.org/). They have lots of helps for science teachers and an online community for members.

The DivCCHAS website has resources available (dchas.org), videos and a webinar library.  Here's the link for key chemical safety education resources

The Division offers zoom safety training in the fall on various topics. That might be an opportunity for you and your colleagues to attend together. Here's the link for descriptors and details about attendance.

HTH - and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Best
Debbie

Hello,

I am writing as a high school teacher and I have recently been doing training to become our school's chemical hygiene officer. I have only been at this independent school for 3 years now, but there are plenty of standards that were lacking, and I finally was able to make progress and move ahead.

I was wondering if you could direct me to any training for teachers about the Laboratory Standard and the Hazard Communication. I'm not quite sure where to find appropriate training as I begin this new responsibility. We have a few chemistry teachers (and chemistry/biology) who need some training on compatible chemical storage, disposal, etc.

Thank you so much for any help you can provide.
