Dear Colleagues,
It is our pleasure to announce the first official Division of Chemical Health and Safety (CHAS) Professional Community – the Two-Year College Community (2YC). This community aims to bring together individuals who are affiliated or interested
in two-year colleges and have an interest in chemical safety.
The CHAS 2YC Community will have a series of CHAS Chats – informal discussions on selected topics – a means for sharing information and resources, a discussion board, and the opportunity to be part of a community of individuals with common
interests.
Dwayne Henry, Instructional Lab Manager of Chemical and Biological Science at Montgomery College, is the inaugural leader of the new 2YC community. He leads a steering committee that will organize meetings, chats, and other content and
activities.
The first CHAS Chat for the 2YC Community is scheduled for
Thursday, October 24, 2024
Time: 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. EDT
Topic: Safety in the Teaching Laboratory
Leader: Dwayne Henry

You do not need to officially join the 2YC Community or be affiliated with a two-year college to join the chat. All are welcome. We will send a reminder with a link to a new web page dedicated to the CHAS 2YC Community soon.
We are currently working on creating a Primarily Undergraduate Institution Professional Community and an Embedded Safety Professionals Professional Community. Stay tuned for more information or contact Robin Izzo at
rmizzo**At_Symbol_Here**princeton.edu if you are interested in leading or participating in the steering committee for either of these Communities.
Please share this information with others that you believe would benefit from the 2YC Community or the CHAS Chat.
Warm regards,
Robin Izzo, Chair of ACS Division of Chemical Health and Safety
Dwayne Henry, Leader of the CHAS 2YC Professional Community
