Demystify:
I'm not the one to talk to lab managers, but i can help direct you to the sources that should be included in the discussion.  We have a lot of LA theater and film industry workers who have no homes, so our unions are keeping up on this.

Cal OSHA and the CA health Department put out lists of what to do in LA and the toxicity of the ash is included. You need those because they are a good start.  Cleanup and Rebuilding after Wildfires

Also, any indoor ventilation recommendations you endorse probably should at least include the ones proposed by 40 of the world's experts in a Science article in the March 27, 2024 edition.  Morawska  was the first author and Joseph Alan from TH Chan School of Public Health at Harvard was the second.  And Allen presented yesterday at an EPA webinar on school air quality.  He and the other experts go against the ASHRAE standards and propose health-based limits for indoor PM2.5, CO2, CO,and outdoor air/person.  For starters, they have good reasons for their 14 Liters/sec/person (30 cfm/person).outdoor air limit.

PM2.5 limit is: 15 ug/m3 1-hour.   So in a wild fire, you're going to need a HEPA air purifier.

There are some really BIG moves in indoor air quality right on the edge of changing things soon.
