CHAS Chat: Navigating Organic Solvent Use in Laboratories

The Division of Chemical Health & Safety (CHAS) Two-Year College (2YC) Community of Practice invites all interested in chemical health and safety at two-year colleges and similar institutions to participate in our quarterly CHAS Chats.

Our next session, Navigating Organic Solvent Use in Laboratories, will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 4:00-5:00 PM EDT. The 2YCC Community of Practice Chair, Dwayne Henry, will lead this interactive discussion. Topics include:

Overview of current environmental regulations.
Resources for substituting organic solvents.
Risk assessment techniques for handling common organic solvents.
Discussion of health hazards related to solvent use.

Participation is open and free to everyone—you do not need to be affiliated with a two-year college or the 2YCC Community to join.
