Subject: Responses to LPS toxicity
Thanks to everyone who responded to my inquiry about LPS toxicity. Based on the responses, it is much clearer to me that it should be handled as a toxic chemical, particularly due to its ability to activate an inflammatory response in mammals, including fever (pyrogenesis). - Ralph Ralph Stuart, CIH Environmental Safety Manager University of Vermont Environmental Safety Facility 667 Spear St. Burlington, VT 05405 rstuart**At_Symbol_Here**uvm.edu fax: (802)656-5407
