Dear Colleagues:
Please mark your calendar for the tenth CSHEMA-Prizim Regional
Environmental Health & Safety ( EH&S) Seminar hosted by the
University of Colorado at Boulder on November 1-2, 2007. The seminar
is designed for anyone with an interest in emerging issues and
program development related to health and safety, environmental
compliance, and risk management.
The seminar will help you tackle the tough issues including:
* Ensuring emergency communications with key stakeholders;
* Integrating security into Hazmat preparedness and management;
* Disposing of controlled substances and other pharmaceuticals;
Additional topics covered during the seminar will include:
* Making chemical inventory management work for multiple stakeholders;
* An update on the development of EH&S Best Management Practices for
work involving nanomaterials led by National Institute of
Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)
* Planning a Fire Academy to engage students and staff;
* Building blocks of biosafety management; and
* Update on fuel management regulations and alternative fuels.
Following the seminar, there will be a half-day workshop on how to
develop a compliance -focused environmental management system that
will integrate well with campus sustainability and resource
conservation efforts.
