While on the topic of sprinkler systems, what is everyone's view on sprinkler systems installed inside a fume hood? This has been a topic that our insurer has batted around with us for years. They would like to recommend sprinklers be installed inside fume hoods where larger volumes of flammable solvents are used (such as floor-to-ceiling fume hoods in our scale-up labs and waste accumulation rooms). Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks, John John Bristol Director, Environmental Health and Safety Andover Site Operations Unit Eisai Inc. I'm not sure if Knoxville is in his territory, but I'm sure he would send you in the right direction. Billy Cole SimplexGrinnell LP (919) 279-6400 (919) 219-4850 I would also recommend these folks; again I'm not sure if Knoxville is in her area, but I'm sure she'd make a referal. You might get better service this way and it's definitely easier to work with only one vendor. If they don't have someone they recommend, you want to make sure you find a vendor that understand the safety needs of a laboratory. Cheers, Katherine C.
