The links at the bottom of this note provide access to the September 2019  Process Safety Beacon. Note that the August Swedish and Telugu Translations are also available. All September Beacon translations are listed, either with a link or as "not available". If the language you want is not available, an email will be sent to you when the translation becomes available, if you are on the distribution list for that language. You may also try going to the and searching for "Beacon and September and 2019" to see if the file has been received and uploaded to the AIChE server.

Organized by AIChE's Ammonia Safety Committee, the annual symposium is dedicated to improving the safety of plants that manufacture ammonia and related chemicals, such as urea, nitric acid, ammonia nitrate, and methanol. More than 400 attendees - including plant safety personnel, plant managers, and process engineers representing a spectrum of industries - are expected to participate in the symposium, where they will share technological advances and discuss strategies for improving plant safety, maintenance, and management. The symposia will take place on September 8 - 12, 2019 at Hyatt Regency San Francisco. 

 

The Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) and European Process Safety Center (EPSC) will jointly host the European Conference on Process Safety and Big Data at the DECHEMA-House in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The 4th Edition of the European Conference on Process Safety and Big Data will be featuring Augmenting Process Safety Performance through Big Data,Digitalization and Robotics. The conference will take place on October 1 - 2, 2019. 

 

Over the past several years Process Safety has taken on increased importance. Today companies large and small, in the traditional process industries and in emerging areas, all put a premium on improving their Process Safety performance. In fact, Process Safety is now a Board-level issue in many companies. This conference will take place on October 22 - 23, 2019 in Singapore.

The has been updated to include all Beacons up to June 2019. Free access to the archive is restricted to "read only" versions of the Beacon. To access the printable version, we request that a company make a contribution equal to one year's dues to program. Your donation will help promote inclusion of process safety in undergraduate chemical engineering programs. In addition to access to the Process Safety Beacon archive, you will receive access to a year of SAChE curriculum materials.
