This is an interesting idea. Distancing and/or masks are not nearly as pervasive of a requirement through time (and country, region, and organization) as eye protection. However, I'm thinking it makes a nice statement for this to be required for any posts related to the COVID situation or working in lab (displaying solidarity in these strange times, etc).

Best,

Kali

Hi all,

As many of you know, C&EN works diligently to show appropriate safety measures in photos and video. I nixed two photos this week alone because people in a lab were not wearing eye protection.

Now the question has come up: Should we also now insist on distancing and/or masks when we show more than one person? Given that the requirements will surely vary by country, region, and organization, this is a harder lift than insisting that people in a lab wear eye protection. I'd welcome anyone's thoughts on this, either through the list or directly to me.

Thank you!

Jyllian
