It was a good starting place on material potential for filtration but from my point of view, all this article does is emphasize that improper fitting and use can change the potential of 80% filtration to 5% or less.  And particle behavior in the real world is not addressed at all.

John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Health has a presentation Called "Can a Mask Protect Me?  Putting Homemade Masks in the Hierarchy of Controls"   that is worth a glance.

Thank you for sharing your research publications! This resource will be crucial in educating my Chemistry and AP Chemistry students this upcoming school year. The validity of science resources to educate students and others about truly effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is vital when there is so much misinformation that is being shared in social media.

Harry,

I wish to thank you for the sharing of the Journal article.  I have blasted it out to many people, some of whom are making masks for state agencies, friends, first responders, etc.

There is no telling how many people the article helped in ways that will never be known.

Thank you again,

Definitely a hearty read, but also good information.
