Dear ACS Member:
The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) has launched The Time is Now: Advancing Equity in Science and Technology Ideation Challenge. The challenge has a central question, "How can we guarantee all Americans can fully participate in, and contribute to, science and technology?"
OSTP is asking the American public to answer this question by submitting their own thoughts, ideas, or examples of existing or promising actions that expand equity and inclusion in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
The ACS community is full of expertise to respond to this challenge and to share new or existing ideas promoting a diverse and equitable STEM ecosystem. We encourage you take the time to provide input to this Challenge and to help make STEM accessible to all Americans.
Below are more details on the Challenge:
- Timeline: Open through November 19th
- Who can engage: students and skilled technical workers, scientists, industry innovators, equity advocates, creatives, education leaders, and people who value and use science and technology
- Where does the input go: It will be part of a larger effort to gather ideas to galvanize action and spur new efforts
