Hi Panos Argyropoulos!

Since a fume hood will house a variety of experiments / applications, a clean up SOP is most logically part of each and every process SOP used within a given hood. Clean up will differ depending on chemicals and processes used.

Subject: [DCHAS-L] Fume hood cleaning procedures and spray foam

Hello CHAS,

I had one of my researchers ask what the best process is for cleaning a fume hood and while I have experience doing it, I’m hoping the DCHAS community can help. Do you have any resources for a comprehensive SOP for fume hood cleaning? Also, I remember having a third party company come and clean the fume hoods and they used a spray foam but I don’t remember what the product was so if anyone has any suggestions that way as well, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
