The Lab Safety Institute is embarking on an effort to inform/educate K-12 STEM teachers about Lab Safety.
A “Safer Science Summit” for K-12 Science Teachers is scheduled on July 22-26 in Cincinnati, Ohio that you may want to participate in. The cost is FREE for teachers and continuing education credits are possible. The information is attached at https://www.labsafety.org/events/safer-science-summit

If you know of any other science teachers who may be interested, please broadcast the information.

Mr. Stephen Taylor, the new Executive Director of LSI, also recently held a free webinar on the Safer Science Summit - Here is the link on Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/936841832

Please call me with any questions.

Hello,

I am writing as a high school teacher and I have recently been doing training to become our school's chemical hygiene officer. I have only been at this independent school for 3 years now, but there are plenty of standards that were lacking, and I finally was able to make progress and move ahead.

I was wondering if you could direct me to any training for teachers about the Laboratory Standard and the Hazard Communication. I'm not quite sure where to find appropriate training as I begin this new responsibility. We have a few chemistry teachers (and chemistry/biology) who need some training on compatible chemical storage, disposal, etc.

Thank you so much for any help you can provide.
